How to donate cars in the Phoenix area

Car donation has become a popular way to donate to charity. Any car is generally accepted, even cars that are no longer in operation. Donated cars are auctioned, with cash income going to the designated charity. So, of course, the cars are in good condition and in good condition will result in a larger donation to their chosen charity. You must have the title to your car if you wish to donate. If you have lost your title, contact the Arizona Department of Transportation. You are eligible for a tax deduction by donating your car to charity.

Go to the website of an agency of charity car donation. There are a number of agencies that provide services car donation and arrange collection of your vehicle. In many cases, these agencies let you choose from a list of charities for the fate of the proceeds from the sale of your car. Two of the more established agencies are Donate for Charity Inc. and Cars4Charities.

Select the charity you would like to donate your car. You can click on the links on the web sites donation to learn more about each organization.

Complete the donation form online. You must include your personal information, information about your car and the location of the vehicle pick-up. Once you complete the application, you will be contacted by telephone to finalize the arrangements for collection. In most cases, your car will be picked up by a towing company from two to five business days.

Find a charity that accepts direct donations of cars. A number of charities in the Phoenix area accept direct donations of cars, including the local public TV station, Kaet, Phoenix and Habitat for Humanity.

Contact the charity to discuss your donation. Some charities have restrictions on the types of cars that will accept. The Phoenix PBS station, for example, requires that any motor car has donated and safe towing. In general, however, any vehicle for which you have the title, running or not, will be accepted for donation.

Arrange collection of your car. You can have the car picked up from your home or any other location that is convenient for you. You are expected to make reasonably clean your car before collection.
